After the introduction of the regulatory carbon market into existance, where some projects passed the compliance test, others did not.

Hence the need to solve this problem emerged, and it was partially solved by providing another scheme for trading, and The voluntary Carbon Market came into existance.

This paper, aims at explainig the rule of thumb for the voluntary market, to provide a better understanding of this scheme and be able, leter on, to address the defects and the flaws of the market
